Well, this is it; the whole point of this looong story. And I suppose I should put this disclaimer out there now before the flame wars start: I DO LOVE THE EARLY SEASONS OF THE SIMPSONS. It was a fantastic show, anytime I catch one of those episodes on TV, I drop everything and sit down for a good time. The message I am conveying here is that I feel the series has gone on way, way too long without at least a reasonable hiatus, and needs to be cancelled. The writing is now awful, regurgitating the same garbage over and over again, the voice actors are REALLY sounding OLD (Homer's voice now compared to the first seven seasons is just... wow.) and even the advent of HD widescreen is being used as a desperate distraction for no real fresh ideas. It's really getting to the point that it's just fodder for the less popular late night shows. Though I understand they want to win that coveted award for longest running prime time series ever,(which brings up the obvious "not even worth it" arguement I could make...) what these writers and animators should really do is start a new, bold, awesome show of their own. Break out and create something new! PLEASE! That's why I feel this was an important story. I'm done now.
