Oh well. I had a good 20-year run of learning how to draw, render, proportions, shading, that thing where you roll up your tongue into a tube, foreshortening, and all that art stuff. And this was the end result.
You say you'll never top this? I've looked at you're other posted work (also great stuff) and I noticed that mostly it's of a jovial nature. Sometimes doing a few serious pieces every once in a while can enhance the humorous ones, as it "rests the funny bone" and allows exploration of different emotions, thoughts, inspiration, style, and sometimes even produces great pieces like the apple bloom pic. Of course, what do I know? I can't even get my cats to quit their gambling addictions. Last one to be giving advice.....
I didn't mean to be a downer, this was kind of a joke Journal. (Not really, but sorta.) And yes, I try to keep at least 80% of my art, pony or non-pony, lighthearted in nature, it's just the kind of person I am. Nobody likes a Debby Downer, and I'm no exception myself.
I know the feeling. My picture 'Halloween in Equestria' got way more attention than any other picture before or after it, and I doubt I'm going to achieve that again. When a single picture gets 40% of your pageview total from 5 years of activity, I think it's a sign. But yeah, best just to enjoy the pony spotlight while it lasts.
Also, that is a really cute picture, not gonna lie.
Well to be fair, even disregarding how sickeningly adorable the image is, it's wonderfully well-drawn. The lighting is brilliant, the subject is framed well, and there's just enough detail the make the picture not boring to look at, while not distracting the viewer from the "main attraction," so to speak. Of course, I'm not an artist, but that's just how I feel about it.
Also, it seems like almost every artist has that one picture that takes off, whether it's for a good reason or not. Some people will stick around and check out your other stuff, and some people won't. Usually they won't bother unless all your stuff is similar to what they came for. My story Friendship Stones is inexplicably popular but nobody checks out my other stuff (to be fair, it's probably because it's all garbage). I think that's maybe the same problem you have here!
Well thanks for the nice review. And yeah, I guess it's my little ticket to "fame" for now. I'm not complaining, except I kinda wish my original stuff like Pulp Culture got more attention. Oh well...

Mainly because of when he did this: [link]
Unfortunately, he hasn't been uploading much lately.
I wonder if my Gallery's switching from being Pokemon-obsessed to Pony-obsessed...
